Nathaniel E. McIntyre, MD specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. His practice focuses on the medical and surgical treatment of pediatric eye disorders, such as strabismus (misaligned eyes), amblyopia (“lazy eye”), childhood ptosis (droopy eyelid), childhood cataracts, tear duct obstructions, and examination for and treatment of retinopathy of prematurity. He also treats adults with strabismus.
Dr. McIntyre graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN with both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in biology, and a medical doctorate degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. He completed an ophthalmology residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine and a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. While in training he enjoyed teaching medical students and junior residents in the clinic and surgical settings.
In addition to his commitment to providing the highest quality care to his patients, Dr. McIntyre cherishes time with his wife and two daughters. He enthusiastically cheers for the New York Yankees, Indianapolis Colts, and Purdue Boilermakers.
Dr. McIntyre has authored published research papers and presented research at national ophthalmology meetings in the fields of glaucoma progression and treatment, as well as treatment of retinopathy of prematurity.
As a graduate of an accredited residency and fellowship program, Dr. McIntyre is eligible for board certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. McIntyre is a member of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
