Janet A. Lee, M.D. specializes in corneal and external diseases of the eye. She diagnoses and treats disorders of the front portion of the eye including corneal infections, inflammatory conditions, corneal dystrophies and degenerations, and disorders of the eyelid and conjunctiva. Dr. Lee also specializes in custom cataract surgery.
Dr. Lee earned a Bachelor of Science degree magna cum laude, in biology from Brown University and a Medical Doctorate from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Following graduation, Dr. Lee completed her internship at McNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL and residency in ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Lee furthered her training during a fellowship in cornea and external disease at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Lee has been involved in research throughout her career. Her surgical interests include cataract, pterygium, corneal transplant and ocular surface neoplasia.
Dr. Lee is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Lee is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Cornea Society and the Illinois Association of Ophthalmology.
