Payment Information

Together, Wheaton Eye Clinic and the DuPage Eye Surgery Center provide patients with the highest quality eye care and surgical treatments. Because patients receive separate billing statements from the Clinic and the Surgery Center, separate patient accounts representatives are available to answer billing and insurance questions for each organization.

Wheaton Eye Clinic accepts many popular insurance plans for services performed by our doctors. Patients are able to pay bills using any one of four major credit cards. Clinic cashiers and patient accounts representatives are available during regular business hours to assist with payments or patient questions.

Cosmetic and LASIK Financing Option

LASIK and oculoplastic procedures may not be covered by health insurance. However, Wheaton Eye Clinic works with Care Credit, an independent healthcare financing company that offers financing for these procedures. Care Credit is a separate organization and not part of Wheaton Eye Clinic. For more information, visit carecredit.com.

Insurance Coverage

We provide an insurance plan list as a courtesy to our patients and visitors to help determine if their current insurance coverage may be accepted.

If your insurance company is not listed or if you are unsure of your plan or have any other insurance inquiries, please call 630.588.3710.

If you are covered by an HMO, please contact your primary care physician so that you may obtain a valid insurance referral. Referrals are expected at the time of service. Patients who receive care without a referral may be responsible for payment at the time of service.

Please be prepared to pay any required insurance co-payments or deductibles. Cash, check and major credit cards are accepted.

For the convenience of our patients, DuPage Eye Surgery Center bills can be paid in person, by mail or over the telephone. Because some LASIK and cosmetic procedures may not be covered by medical insurance, the Surgery Center works with an independent company to offer financing for this type of surgery. Questions regarding statements, insurance or financing should be directed to the Surgery Center.

Billing Statement

You will receive two separate billing statements:

  • The Wheaton Eye Clinic statement, covering the doctor’s services
  • The DuPage Eye Surgery Center statement, covering the use of the facility

Cosmetic Surgery

Standard Charges

For cosmetic procedures, a set of standard charges has been established. By using these standard charges, patients have the opportunity of knowing in advance the costs of certain procedures. Standard charges include the use of the facility only. Laboratory tests, additional supplies and medications are not included in the standard charges.

Separate Charges

Charges for cosmetic surgery and procedures are not covered by insurance and should be paid at the time of service.

Fees for the professional services of your anesthesiologist and pathologist are not included in the fees charged by DuPage Eye Surgery Center. The fees for these services will be submitted to you by the individual providers of these services.
